SCUMWATCH

The Internet, which was (and still is) one of the wonders of the our age, has brought out the best in humankind.. free flows of vast stores of information, freedom of expression, easy and safe commerce etc. But it's also brought out the worst: the internet quickly became permeated with scams, scamsters, pretenders, hi-tech thieves and the like. Enticing get-rich quick schemes, MLM scams, etc. were bad enough.. now, as technology improves, so do the methods and means of the cyber-crooks.. consider the latest addition to online trickery: 'phishing' as the geeks have quickly named it.. where gullible users are tricked into giving away sensitive information like credit card numbers to sites cleverly disguised as originals. There are hundreds of money-making schemes, programs and ideas floating around (and often being very actively promoted) on the Net. Which are the SCAMS? How do you protect yourself from being ripped off? FairTradeAuthority is a good place to visit.
And interestingly, here are two fabulous sites that really educate you (thoroughly) both ways (the good and the bad) about MLM:

Not the latest, but now the fastest-growing menace after viruses and spam, is "Spyware".. software that you've knowingly or unknowingly downloaded (spyware programs come bundled with other free software), that sends out sensitive information about your surfing habits to its masters. The broad term 'Spyware' can now be categorized further into 'Adware', which is usually 'benign', as it doesn't send back personal info like email IDs credit card numbers etc., as opposed to 'Malware' which can be a Trojan-type program which does collect and send sensitive personal date. A recent US-Govt.-backed study showed that a majority of internet users had spyware unknowingly installed on their computers.. in one case, 1800 (you read that right) spyware files were found on one single computer. Here are some solutions to this menace: 1)- The site that Google endorses: StopBadWare 2)-Ad-Aware: the best-known spyware detector-cleaner. (In our experience, the free version sometimes misses some of the newer spyware variants).

4)-Check/DisableThiefware on your computer

5)-Claria (Gator software) considered a parasite. See why many people think the Gator software is spyware. Find a better alternative here

6)-SpywareGuard is a free software program that offers real-time scanning AND download protection against spyware.
